Here are 3 tips to Follow:

1.) Deposits Over the Phone

Brands and companies do not require a model or actor to send a deposit over the phone. In fact, most would meet you in person to see what you really look like. Only deal with people you can see!

2.) Expensive Photo Shoots

Photographs are always required however, they shouldn’t cost more than a few hundred bucks. If it seems too good to be true, it is.

3.) Mailing you a Check

If someone is claiming to book you for a job and they are going to pay you (even though you never met them) this is NOT real. Here is an example:

YOU WILL NOT ONLY RECEIVE A CERTIFIED PAYCHECK OF but also with an ADDITIONAL amount that you will use to pay for your wardrobes bills which you will forward to the designer in charge of your Wardrobe after processing the check. The payment for your wardrobe and clothing measurements has to be forwarded to the designer by you, reason being that, the payment for your wardrobe have to be made or billed to your name/info as requested and acceptable business terms by the designer to ensure a tallied customization and label to be printed on your costumes.

There are many tips to help you stay safe online, but there are a few that you must adhere to. The most important of these is to protect your identity. Be wary of social networking sites, especially when the person on the other end promises you work, but will never meet with you in person. Another way to stay safe online is to avoid sharing your physical location or address on the internet.

Cybercriminals prey on people’s curiosity to get access to their personal information. They post sensational content to draw you in and get your details. Never download anything from the internet, even if it comes from a reputable source without first doing your homework on who or where it is coming from. And remember that your laptop is not impenetrable. If you’re on public Wi-Fi, wait to enter personal information. This is the easiest way to avoid cybercrime.

Staying safe online means avoiding fraudulent websites. Keeping your passwords and personal information private is crucial. Cybercriminals can easily steal your information. That’s why it’s crucial to keep your passwords and security questions confidential. And make sure to check links before you click them. There are many tips and tricks to stay safe online. Just follow them and you’ll be on your way to being a safe and happy internet user. You’ll be surprised at how much better you’ll feel!

It’s important to keep your children safe when using the internet. While the Internet is a wonderful tool for learning and entertainment, it can be dangerous if your child is exposed to inappropriate content. It’s also important to make sure your child has access to age-appropriate content. Parents should use protective measures on their cell phones and other technology devices. While many of these tips may seem simple, they’re vital to keeping kids safe while online.

You should also avoid oversea frauds. They may be posing as a real person or a paid model, but this isn’t necessarily the case. Be cautious when talking with strangers and do your research. Doing so can help you stay safe online. However, beware of strangers you don’t know. In some cases, the person can pose as someone who looks very attractive. They do the same in the modeling industry, they claim to be a casting job and promise to send you a check. In fact they do, however the check is not real. Never accept a prepayment for any job you never completed first!

Leaving a small town, getting up and moving to a big city like Manhattan New York to attempt a dream in modeling and acting can be viewed as something only for the brave. While every talents journey is different, here’s a compiled list of some realities that models and actors face while living out their dream in New York City.

Housing is superrrrrrrrrr expensive
Second only to San Francisco, which isn’t really a fair comparison considering how dense New York is, Manhattan is one of the most expensive places to live in the United States. If you are moving out here just to pursue acting or even modeling it is always best to look for options outside of the city. Manny up and coming communities in Queens and Brooklyn pose an affordable option for Talon moving out on their own. Roommates are also a favorite option which can cut the expense of living in half. While commonly known as the “model apartment“ agencies may allow their fresh face talent that have been signed from out of state, Or even overseas, a housing which is similar to a dorm with other models. Even though in the agency may cover the first couple months it is taken from a talents first gig so in reality, the model apartment with you share with many other models, can you come out to be the same if not more than how do you just live in a one bedroom on your own.

If you want to be taken seriously, especially as a model or actor, you need to have the correct materials when approaching a casting client.

Many talented first assume that they can just go to offices or call agencies and set up appointments. It’s not that simple. To be taken seriously not only do you need the cracked marketing, but you also have to have prior experience that shows a client that you were actually trying to pursue this. Similarly, if you are just moving to New York, there are many options including latitude talent studios which helps connect models and actors with the tools and resources to start their journey in a competitive market.

Why seeking a Major Talent Agency to Start is Not the Best Idea

When new models want to get started, they think the best thing to do is to apply to every major agency they can find.

Not hearing back after a couple of weeks? It’s common, modeling agencies are very, very picky and for good reason.

The best idea to be a model is to build up your experience and book. Working with legitimate photographers and attending casting calls can make all the difference when starting out.

Modeling Agencies in 2019

The modeling industry has been around for many decades and up until recently, it was once thought it was only reserved for the very thin, stereo-typical supermodel that you once saw walking on the runway. In 2019, aspiring models, as well as industry professionals will see many ongoing changes that we’ve seen for the past few years in the way that auditions take place, the type of talent they are scouting and seeking for auditions, as well as how to get scouted by a talent agency.

The digital world has changed the face of models, literally. Many brands, including the world-famous Balmain, has turned to computer animated models for some of their campaigns. Sounds crazy right? Not from a business sense. A model that is signed with a major agency can garnish hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of commissioned pay for a brand, so companies looking to scale back as the decline of retail has effected the whole industry, cutting cost and using CGI models as the new faces could be the new norm. Will they stay longer than 2019 and into 2020 and beyond, who knows…. One thing for sure is that they won’t age a bit!Screen Shot 2018-11-27 at 1.16.32 PM.png
