How to Deal With Rejection

Before you can begin to deal with your feelings of rejection, it’s important to acknowledge them. Reminding yourself that rejection is norma and that everyone will face sooner or later can help you feel less afraid. If you accept rejection as a natural part of life, whether it happens in the modeling or talent industry or not, you may be better able to deal with it when you are faced with rejecting a part for an agent or project.

Accepting rejection on a personal level makes it more difficult to accept rejection emotionally. It is best to give up feelings of personal rejection and consider the situation as objectively as possible. Sometimes it helps to look at your behavior and how you present yourself; this does not mean that the rejection is because you did something wrong. This moment of rejection isn’t easy.

Instead of letting this rejection turn into the natural fear we all have, try to use it as an opportunity to grow and find courage. Think about what happened and find out what you can do, but don’t let rejection stop you for too long. Think about all the positive factors you will experience if you are brave and try to figure out the reasons and circumstances for your rejection. If you are willing to show personal courage and seek feedback after being rejected, you can do both.
